Paul Dormer gives undertaking in Dublin lock dispute

By Rory Hanlon

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Paul Dormer gave an undertaking in the High Court on 26 April 2022 not to change locks at a Dublin language school, after denying that he had threatened to do so.

Liffey College director Haseeb Ahmed had obtained a temporary injunction against Paul and Gerard Dormer amid a rent dispute at the Maltings Business Park in Dublin 8.

The landlords disputed the validity of receivership proceedings, while Ahmed said the college had placed rent and arrears in his solicitor’s account pending that case. Paul Dormer said arrears of about €80,000 had built up and objected to paying Ahmed’s legal costs.

Justice Senan Allen accepted the undertaking in place of the temporary injunction, adjourned the matter and reserved the question of legal costs for a later stage.
