Patrick Rogers received a fully suspended 16-month sentence for possessing child sex abuse images at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 21 April 2023. The offence occurred at his Dublin 5 home on 16 October 2017.
Five illegal videos were found on a phone recovered during a garda search, and Rogers admitted the phone was his. The prosecution had been delayed by a mislabelling oversight unrelated to Rogers, the court heard.
Judge Martin Nolan considered the delay, Rogers’ personal challenges and his previous sentence for similar offences. He also ordered the destruction of the images.
