Patrick Kinch was jailed for 10 years, with the final three and a half years suspended, at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, reported on 1 June 2017. He pleaded guilty to endangering gardaí by firing a stolen sawn-off shotgun during a siege at Deerpark Square, Tallaght, Dublin. Kinch also admitted damaging the house and causing more than €7,000 damage to a Garda vehicle.
The court was told that Kinch discharged 37 shotgun rounds in the direction of gardaí during the almost 15-hour incident on 20 December 2015. No garda was injured, and Kinch was arrested after throwing the unloaded shotgun from a window.
