Patrick Fahey received a six-and-a-half-year sentence for shop robberies and attempted robberies at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 19 July 2022.

Fahey pleaded guilty to seven counts involving robberies and attempted robberies between 22 August and 15 October 2019. He also pleaded guilty to robbery at Spar in Rathbourne on 26 April 2021 and robbery at a St Vincent de Paul shop in Finglas on 30 September 2021.

In a raid on a vintage clothes shop on Thomas Street on 8 October 2019, he left with a bag containing fruit and a chocolate bar after a staff member showed him the cash purse was empty.

Judge Martin Nolan said victims would have been in fear during the incidents, although there had been no real violence. Fahey had 18 previous convictions, and the sentences were backdated to 3 October 2021, when he entered custody.
