This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Sergeant Patrick Dunne was granted permission to challenge the alleged non-processing of his €23,000 expenses claim at the High Court on 18 July 2022. The claim concerns subsistence expenses while he was stationed at Coolock Garda Station in Dublin.

The expenses claim covered July 2014 to October 2018. Dunne alleges that he submitted it in August 2019 and that the Garda Commissioner had not assessed it.

The judge granted permission on an ex-parte basis. Dunne seeks an order requiring the Commissioner to assess the claim, along with declarations concerning the alleged failure to deal with it.

The matter was due to return before the High Court in November 2022.
