A pathologist told a murder trial that Graham McKeever died from a stab wound to the heart after a fight with his lover’s boyfriend. The proceedings were reported on 13 December 2018.
Keith Connorton was on trial at the Central Criminal Court for the murder of Mr McKeever at Mr Connorton’s home in Tallaght on 18 February 2017. He pleaded not guilty.
Deputy State Pathologist Dr Linda Mulligan said the fatal wound entered the left side of Mr McKeever’s chest between the second and third ribs and penetrated his heart. She said the wound and resulting bleeding caused his death.
Dr Mulligan said Mr McKeever had three other stab wounds that could have contributed to his death, as well as about 40 scratches and bruises. She said the fatal wound was not survivable and death would have followed rapidly, within minutes.
The report said the trial would continue on Friday before Justice Tony Hunt and a jury.
