Paschal Kelly, 49, appeared before two Dublin courts on four outstanding arrest warrants. He was remanded in custody to appear at Clover Hill District Court the following week.
The District Court proceedings concerned 13 road traffic offences. Detective Sergeant Daniel O'Driscoll said Mr Kelly had been arrested on two warrants issued two years earlier by courts in Balbriggan and Dublin on charges of driving without insurance.
The other 11 offences comprised seven counts of dangerous driving and four counts of endangerment, allegedly committed in October 2012 on the Naas Road, the M50, St Loman's Road, the N4 and the Lucan Road outbound at Liffey Valley.
Det Garda Kevin Walsh said Mr Kelly was charged with those 11 offences at Pearse Street Garda Station and replied: "I have nothing to say to the charges." Defence counsel said consideration of bail was being deferred and submitted a statement of means as part of a legal application, with a copy to be examined by Det Walsh.
Mr Kelly later appeared before the Circuit Criminal Court on two further outstanding warrants concerning charges of failing to file tax returns in December 2012 and threatening to kill a garda in July 2013. The court was told that one warrant had been issued on the date set for trial. That case was adjourned for three weeks.
