Niall Sheehy received a fully suspended one-year prison sentence at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for four sample charges involving disclosure of personal information obtained without authority. Judge Martin Nolan imposed the sentence, reported on 5 March 2024.

Sheehy pleaded guilty. The charges related to dates between June 2019 and February 2020, when Detective Sergeant Padraic Jennings said a serving garda sent him screenshots from the Garda Pulse system.

The report said Sheehy was not involved in wider criminal activity. It also recorded that no money changed hands, that he said he had not requested or used the information, and that the sentence was suspended in full on strict conditions.
