Yellow box proposed for Laois town as Parochial House trapped by cars

Laois County Council are looking into providing a yellow box along a street in Stradbally.
At the September meeting of the Graiguecullen / Portarlington MD, Cllr Paschal McEvoy requested Laois County Council to install a yellow box at the entrance of the Parochial House at Court Square in Stradbally.
The Parochial House is located across from the Arthouse on the busy Timahoe Road.
The Stradbally Councillor told the Council that Father Seán Kelly who lives in the Parochial House is having difficulty getting out of the house due to cars being parked along the road.
“The problem is the Parochial House is right in front of the Arthouse in Stradbally. There’s times there when Father Kelly wants to come out and there’s cars parked there.
“It is causing issues. It is very dark there so people might not see that there is even a house there because it’s in a good bit off the road.”
The Fianna Fáil Councillor said that a yellow box would solve the problem.
Laois County Council agreed to carry out an assessment at Court Square and consider the merits for installing a yellow box.
