Neil Mannion lost his appeal against a six-and-a-half-year sentence for supplying drugs over the dark net when the Court of Appeal dismissed it on 3 November 2016.
The sentence had been imposed by the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 21 December 2015 for an offence under section 15A of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1977.
The offence was recorded at Bank House, 331 South Circular Road, Dublin 8, on 5 November 2014, where gardaí found drugs valued at approximately €143,000.
The appeal court held that the sentencing judge had properly considered the relevant principles and that Mannion’s more severe sentence reflected his different role from his co-accused.
