Nathan Kinsella jailed for tax offences at Special Criminal Court

By Eimear Byrne

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Nathan Kinsella was sentenced to 18 months, with the final six months suspended for two years, at the Special Criminal Court on 28 June 2024 for failing to file capital acquisitions tax returns.

The court deferred the sentence so his doctors could liaise with prison medical staff about access to medication. Kinsella undertook to present himself at Portlaoise Prison the following Wednesday.

The State also dropped the money-laundering charges against Kinsella. In November 2023, it dropped all nine money-laundering and tax charges against Jennifer Dunne, and the court discharged her from proceedings.
