Nathan Foley was sentenced to six years in prison on 25 January 2019 for his role in the murder of David ‘Daithi’ Douglas. He had pleaded guilty.

Douglas was shot six times during a meal break at his partner’s shop on Bridgefoot Street, Dublin, on 1 July 2016. Foley drove one of four cars used in the murder.

The court found that Foley played a significant role in the pre-planned murder. Mr Justice Tony Hunt described him as a runner for senior gang member Freddie Thompson. The court took Foley’s guilty plea, vulnerabilities and susceptibility to Thompson’s influence into account.
