This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Edyta Scibior received a four-year-and-six-month sentence, fully suspended, after pleading guilty to possessing drugs for sale or supply at her home and nail salon. Judge Eugene O’Kelly ordered her to enter a bond and keep the peace for 18 months.

Drugs were found at the couple’s home and in a locked storeroom at Home of Shellac, their Carlow business, on 22 February 2023. Scibior told gardaí she was unaware of drugs at either premises. The judge cited her employees, the effect a custodial sentence would have on the children and her elderly mother, and testimonials he described as “glowing” when suspending her sentence. The court heard that her previous husband, the father of her child, died in 2022. The judge also noted the probation report said she did not take responsibility for the drugs.

Her husband, Kamil Scibior, was jailed for six years after pleading guilty to a section 15(a) drug possession charge. Judge O’Kelly described his account of receiving boxes from a stranger as “implausible”; he reduced an eight-year sentence to six years.
