This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Michael Murray pleaded not guilty to charges of making death threats and harassment. The proceedings at the Circuit Criminal Court in Dublin were reported on 18 June 2021.

The alleged death threats concerned barristers Dominic McGinn SC and Tony McGillicuddy BL, who prosecuted Murray for rape in 2013. The harassment charges concerned Mr McGinn, Murray’s former defence solicitor and the woman he was convicted of raping, including falsely advertising all three online as prostitutes.

Judge Karen O’Connor told the jury that Murray had chosen to represent himself. On 17 June 2021, the jury watched a Garda interview recording in which Murray said he had planned to have Mr McGinn shot that night.

The report said the trial was to continue on Monday. It recorded no verdict or later outcome.
