Maurice Walsh was jailed for eight years, with the final three suspended, for possessing heroin for sale or supply at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, reported on 20 July 2021.
The offence took place at Watkins Square, Dublin 8, on 20 August 2018. Walsh pleaded guilty to possessing €22,820 worth of heroin for sale or supply and had five previous convictions.
Judge Pauline Codd cited this as Walsh’s second offence of this kind and a significant aggravating factor. The suspended portion was conditional on his attending a residential drug rehabilitation programme on release.
