The Central Criminal Court has set Ahmed Abdirahman’s trial for January 11, 2027, with a case management date on October 30. The prosecution told the court the trial is expected to take about four weeks and that cross-border work remains to be done.

Abdirahman, 33, is accused of murdering his former partner Mary Ward at her home in south Belfast on September 25, 2024. The court had previously heard that a psychiatric issue in the case had “melted away” and that the trial was ready to proceed.
