Fire engineer Martin Davidson told the Dublin District Coroner’s Court on 31 January 2024 that Stardust management had failed to comply with 16 fire-safety by-laws.
Davidson said only 10 of the 26 by-laws attached to the nightclub’s planning permission were met. His evidence described locked exits, obstructed escape routes, unapproved changes and a lack of fire drills and staff training.
The inquest concerned the 1981 fire at the Dublin nightclub, which killed 48 people.
