Martin Aylmer jailed for role in Dublin murder

By Donal Gilhooly

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Martin Aylmer was resentenced to four years and nine months for helping a criminal organisation in a murder at the Court of Criminal Appeal on 10 March 2020. The murder happened at Dublin’s Sunset House pub on 25 April 2016.

The sentence was increased by two years after the Director of Public Prosecutions appealed that the original term was unduly lenient. The court said Aylmer’s assistance to a gang that committed murder, rather than drug dealing, was relevant, while full responsibility for the killing was not attributed to him.
