This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

A 24-year-old Slovenian man has been jailed for two and a half years after pleading guilty to harassing a teenager and possessing four images of child sexual abuse. The offences took place between December 2023 and November 2024; the images were found on his phone after his arrest and were not of the victim.

The man first met the girl through Roblox in 2022, when she was 15. He later threatened to share sexualised images and videos she had sent him unless she followed his demands, including regularly calling him and asking permission before going out. The man cannot be named to protect the now 18-year-old victim’s identity.

Dublin Circuit Criminal Court set a headline sentence of five years, reduced to two and a half years after taking mitigating factors into account. The sentence was backdated to when the man entered custody in November 2024. The court also prohibited him from contacting the victim, directly or indirectly, for 25 years.
