Stelian Ciuciu was sentenced to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to 20 charges relating to organising prostitution, operating brothels and money laundering in Dublin. The offences took place between January 2020 and November 2023. He rented properties from landlords and offered them to escorts for €1,000 a week, using false documents and a WhatsApp group to advertise the premises.
Gardaí found €320,000 in Ciuciu’s accounts and €11,000 in cash at his home. Judge Martin Nolan described the network as sophisticated. After sentencing, a senior garda said the coordinated network had been dismantled and appealed to victims to seek help.
