Ronaldo Lupo was jailed for two years and nine months by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court after pleading guilty to two counts of assault causing harm. The sentence was backdated to February 1, when he went into custody. The proceedings were reported on November 20, 2025.
The assaults happened in Clonee on December 30, 2023. The report said Lupo grabbed Lauren Boyle-Hanney by the hair and punched her about 20 times, then punched Abby Tierney in the jaw, knocking her unconscious. It was accepted that Boyle-Hanney had first struck Lupo while intervening in an argument between him and his partner.
Judge Martin Nolan said Lupo had attacked both women savagely and considered his guilty pleas, remorse and medical issues when sentencing him. The report said Lupo was attending an anger-management course in custody.
