This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

A man was convicted of causing serious harm by infecting two former partners with HIV at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, reported on 12 July 2018. The offences were alleged to have occurred between November 2009 and June 2010. A jury returned unanimous guilty verdicts on both charges after an eleven-day trial and almost four-and-a-half hours of deliberations.

The man cannot be named because publication of his identity could identify the complainants. The State alleged that he knew he had HIV when he infected the women and that his conduct caused serious harm. Judge Martin Nolan remanded him in custody and said he would sentence him before the end of July.
