A 50-year-old homeless man accused of trespassing appeared before Dundalk Court on Tuesday.

Beniamin Petre, no fixed abode, Dublin 1, is charged with, on September 1, 2025, at Philipstown, Louth, without reasonable excuse, trespassing on a hay barn in such a manner as caused or was likely to cause fear in another person.

Barrister Eoghan Fagan, instructed by solicitor Andrew Broderick, said that the defendant was not making a bail application.

Court presenter Sgt Richie Browne pointed out that there would be no further charges.

Judge Valerie Corcoran remanded Mr Petre in custody via video link to Drogheda Court on Monday next September 8.

A disclosure order was made and legal aid granted.

Judge Corcoran said that the prosecution must be given 48 hours notice of any intended bail application.
