Luxor Investments opens Dublin hotel planning case in High Court

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Luxor Investments opened a High Court planning case against Wave Point Limited on 5 December 2018, alleging breaches linked to a proposed hotel. The dispute concerns a planned 136-bedroom hotel beside Luxor’s Radisson Hotel and apartment complex in central Dublin.

Luxor is seeking injunctions requiring Wave Point to prepare a construction management plan for the development. Its concerns include demolition works, the removal of a wall, barriers installed without consultation and the absence of an agreed plan.

Wave Point denies breaching its planning permission and opposes the injunction application. Its counsel, Martin Hayden SC, said preliminary works carried out in June 2018 included the demolition of sheds and archaeological investigations. He said a building management plan was not required for those works and that documentation concerning them had been filed with Dublin City Council.

Mr Hayden said Wave Point would submit a building management plan because hotel construction could not begin until that was done. The case continues before Ms Justice Tara Burns.
