This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Luke Daly’s simple assault case was deferred at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 9 October 2024, with final orders due in April 2025. The assault took place on Rock Road, Blackrock, in December 2019.

Daly admitted grabbing the teenager’s jacket and pulling him to the ground; gardaí could not say he kicked or hit the victim. The teenager suffered three fractured fingers during the group attack.

Judge Orla Crowe said the offence would warrant two months’ imprisonment and intended to dispose of the case under Section 100 of the Criminal Justice Act, provided Daly met the conditions. He was ordered to keep the peace and be of good behaviour pending sentence, and to pay €3,000 compensation.
