Ian Healy was sentenced to 10 years in prison for grooming and sexually abusing two younger sisters of his girlfriend. The judge suspended the final 18 months, leaving an eight-and-a-half-year custodial sentence, and ordered Healy to remain under Probation Service supervision for 18 months.

Healy pleaded guilty to 13 sample counts involving indecent assault, attempted rape and rape of Susan Mallon, and one count of indecent assault of her younger sister, Jenny Sullivan. The judge said he had inserted himself into a family she described as vulnerable and groomed both girls when they were children.
