Lorcan Bourke sued receiver Anne O’Dwyer in the High Court on 12 March 2018 over a signed copy of Amhrán na bhFiann. The item was displayed at Bourke’s Bar in Limerick, along with other possessions he sought to recover.
Bourke, a descendant of lyricist Peadar Kearney, said the signed copy had been dedicated to his grandfather and remained a family heirloom. He also said several items were missing and that he did not know where they were.
Mr Justice David Barniville allowed Bourke to serve short notice of the proceedings but declined to make orders before the receiver had been heard. The matter was made returnable for the following Wednesday.
