This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Lookman Kareem pleaded not guilty to assault causing harm and assault at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, reported on 13 April 2016. The charges arose from an alleged incident in Rathmines on 22 December 2013, involving passengers in Kareem’s taxi. The prosecution alleged that Kareem assaulted Noelle Donohue and bit part of Darren O’Connor’s thumb during a confrontation. O’Connor told the court he suffered severe pain and required surgery the following day.

The defence alleged that the passengers had abused Kareem and assaulted him after handling his taxi identification card. Kareem denied biting O’Connor’s thumb. The trial was continuing before Judge Patricia Ryan and a jury when the report was published.

This case may have concluded differently. The outcome has not yet been confirmed by a public source we could find.
