Lisa Lawlor told Dublin Coroner’s Court on 9 May 2023 that her parents died in the Stardust fire, in which an arson allegation had been made during an earlier inquiry.

Lawlor, orphaned as a baby, said the arson allegation added to the family’s pain and described growing up without her parents.

She told the inquest that her parents, Maureen and Francis Lawlor, had gone out to celebrate Valentine’s Day and never returned.

Lawlor said her father had gone back into the burning building to look for her mother.
