Leeanda Farrelly received a fully suspended nine-month sentence at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 20 March 2024 for publishing an image likely to identify a child in criminal proceedings.
She reposted a photo of Boy A in a closed Facebook group on 19 June 2019 and removed it after around 20 minutes.
Farrelly pleaded guilty to publishing a report likely to lead to the identification of a child involved in criminal proceedings. The two boys had been convicted of murdering 14-year-old Ana Kriégel, who was killed at a farmhouse in Lucan, Co Dublin, on 14 May 2018.
Judge Pauline Codd said Farrelly had expressed remorse and described her post as encouraging others to spread the image. The judge suspended the full sentence.
