Laura Clarke received a five-year suspended sentence for cocaine possession at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, reported on 18 December 2015. She had pleaded guilty to possessing 372g of cocaine for sale or supply at her Coolock home on 7 October 2014.

The court was told Clarke held the drugs to repay a €3,000 debt after dealers threatened her and her child. Gardaí found the cocaine and weighing scales during a search of the family home, while the defence said she had since stopped using drugs and volunteered in a community training scheme.
