Laimonas Baltrusis was sentenced to five years and three months in prison at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. Judge Martin Nolan imposed the sentence after Baltrusis admitted unlawfully possessing cocaine at two Dublin 15 addresses on 19 and 20 September 2020 and pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a Grand Power semi-automatic pistol and ammunition at the second address on 20 September 2020.

The report said gardaí recovered about €280,000 worth of cocaine from hidden compartments in two cars, along with the pistol and 10 rounds of ammunition. Defence counsel Michael Bowman SC said the case involved “passive possession”; Garda Ian Sheedy agreed the gun was not chambered and had no bullet in the breech. The proceedings were reported on 23 November 2022.
