Lacey O’Connor received an 18-month suspended sentence for perverting the course of justice at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 15 June 2022.
She had pleaded guilty to giving a false account of her partner’s movements during the November 2019 murder investigation into Wayne Whelan’s shooting in Lucan, County Dublin. Judge Orla Crowe suspended the sentence in full for four years and bound O’Connor to keep the peace during that period. The court heard that CCTV and phone records contradicted her account that Anthony Casserly was at home with her when Whelan was killed.
