By Ruairí Dolan

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Kevin Coughlan had his murder conviction quashed and a manslaughter conviction substituted by the Court of Appeal on 18 June 2015. The original offence involved the death of Francis Greene at Steamboat Quay in Limerick between 28 and 29 November 2009.

The court found that Coughlan’s trial had been rendered unsatisfactory after evidence from then deputy State pathologist Khalid Jabber changed during the proceedings. Coughlan was remanded in custody to appear before the Central Criminal Court for sentencing.
