Justin McCormack was sentenced at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 14 November 2024 to nine years in prison, with the final 12 months suspended.
He pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis for sale or supply at a business unit in Fairview and in a white transit van. The offences occurred on 11 and 12 October 2023.
The proceedings were reported on 14 November 2024. The cannabis found in the unit and van had a combined value of €3.9 million. Judge Orla Crowe imposed concurrent nine-year sentences on each count and backdated the sentence to when McCormack went into custody in October 2023.
The judge acknowledged McCormack’s mortgage arrears and immediate admission in the van, while identifying significant aggravating factors. She said he was trusted to store and transport large quantities of drugs and that his active involvement could not be overlooked.
