Jordan Domican was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of facilitating a criminal organisation. The sentence was backdated to when he entered custody in the case.
Dublin Circuit Criminal Court heard that Domican helped procure a car later used in an arson incident and drove a person to Co Wicklow to buy a motorbike later used in an incident in which two rounds were discharged. The court heard that Domican said he did not know what the motorbike would be used for, and that he was not involved in its purchase.
Judge Martin Nolan said Domican had involved himself in serious criminality and described the evidence as suggesting he was high up in the organisation and indispensable to it. The judge treated Domican’s personal circumstances and guilty plea as significant mitigating factors. The court heard he had 30 previous convictions, all from the District Court.
