Jordan Carthy and Shane Walsh pleaded guilty to assault and robbery, as reported on 19 June 2017.

The offences followed an attack on Dame Lane, Dublin, in September 2016.

The men admitted beating a man and stealing two Boodles necklaces worth €20,000 from his bag.

The victim was punched and kicked, suffering a broken nose during the assault.

CCTV footage showed Carthy holding the victim down while Walsh stamped on his head.

The court was told both men had consumed drink and drugs and did not know the bag contained jewellery.
