Johnny O'Loughlin loses bid to keep Dublin property notices

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

The High Court lifted legal notices over three Dublin development sites in a dispute involving Johnny O'Loughlin and Michael Moran; the report was published on 16 July 2021.

The notices, known as lis pendens, had been registered by O'Loughlin and Mount Pleasant Development Ltd over Glebe House and lands in Crumlin, Annesley House in Rathmines, and the former Europa Motors site in Blackrock.

O'Loughlin and the company claim interests in the properties and seek declarations that the owners hold them in trust, along with damages for alleged breach of contract and interference with economic interests. The claims are denied.

The owners argued the notices were obstructing development plans and finance. Their counsel said the notices affected proposed sales of more than 20 Annesley Gardens units valued at €31 million; a proposed Crumlin joint venture involving more than 150 apartments was also said to have been delayed.
