Jobstown jury resumes deliberations in false imprisonment trial

By Niamh Kearney

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

The Jobstown jury resumed deliberations in the false imprisonment trial after further instructions from the trial judge. The proceedings were reported on 28 June 2017.

The judge told jurors that video footage should be their primary evidence and that they must assess whether each accused intentionally participated in totally restraining the two women. She said the prosecution accepted that its case would fail if the jury found the women had not been totally restrained in the first garda car.

Deliberations had been suspended for further legal submissions.
