Jhennifer Garcia De Araujo was sentenced for importing cocaine at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, reported on 5 November 2019. She received six years in prison, with the final five years suspended, after admitting the offence and two possession charges at Dublin Airport. The cocaine was valued at €49,203 and comprised 51 pellets. The court accepted that she had been threatened with a gun after travelling to Ireland believing she was meeting someone about modelling work. Judge Pauline Codd described her as a drug mule and said she was not paid for delivering the drugs. Her release condition required her to leave Ireland immediately.
