This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

James Flynn was convicted of conspiring to steal a car used in the Lordship Credit Union robbery at the Special Criminal Court on 11 September 2023. The robbery took place in Bellurgan, Co Louth.

The court found Flynn not guilty of robbing €7,000 from the credit union. It said it could not be sure he was one of the four people who took part in the robbery, despite evidence of surveillance and other involvement.

Brendan Treanor was acquitted of both charges, including the robbery and conspiracy to enter a house to steal car keys. The court found insufficient evidence to link him to the robbery scene.

Flynn was remanded in custody for sentencing on 13 November 2023, according to the reports.
