This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

The Central Criminal Court heard that an innocent boy had been wrongly identified online as one of Ana Kriégel’s killers. The proceedings were reported on 20 June 2019. The court continued injunctions requiring Facebook and Twitter to remove material identifying the two convicted boys that they became aware of or that was brought to their attention.

The school involved in the case said the innocent child had been wrongly identified as one of the two guilty boys, while a staff member had also been wrongly targeted. The injunctions were continued until 5 July, when the matter was due back before the court.
