Hollie Kavanagh (22), who pleaded guilty to assault causing harm at The Lawn Park in Ballyfermot on April 27, 2022, received a 16-month sentence, suspended in full on strict conditions, at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. Judge Elma Sheahan imposed the sentence on Wednesday, Echo reported.
The court heard that Kavanagh was one of four females who attacked an 18-year-old girl in the park. The girl’s impact statement described anxiety and feeling unsafe in public. Kavanagh had no previous convictions, and the court was told she had sought to apologise and brought €1,850, which the injured party did not wish to accept. The judge had earlier directed that the money be given to the National Rehabilitation Centre.
