High Court declares Audi linked to Patrick Reilly Junior proceeds of crime

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

The High Court ruled that a €25,000 Audi A3 which the Criminal Assets Bureau said was owned by Patrick Reilly Junior was proceeds of crime. The proceedings were reported on 23 January 2018.

The Garda Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau seized the car in 2016 and referred the issue of its ownership to CAB.

Reilly did not oppose CAB’s application but had denied owning the car, saying it belonged to a family member. Ms Justice Carmel Stewart said there was no evidence before the court to support his claim that he did not own it.

The judge made an order over the vehicle under Section 3 of the Proceeds of Crime Act 1996 and appointed a receiver over it.
