Gwen Bradley granted leave to challenge inquest result

By Fionn Kelly

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Gwen Bradley was granted leave for judicial review in the High Court, reported on 4 July 2017, over the conduct of an inquest into Evan Morrissey’s death. The proceedings seek to quash the narrative verdict returned after the inquest into Mr Morrissey’s death from a cerebral artery aneurysm rebleed.

Bradley claims the Cork city coroner restricted questions about South Tipperary General Hospital’s procedures and prevented relevant evidence from being heard by the jury. Her solicitor withdrew from the two-day inquest following the interventions, and Mr Justice Seamus Noonan returned the matter to October.
