Greg Gilligan was jailed for two years at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 25 February 2019 after pleading guilty to possessing cannabis and a small quantity of crack cocaine. The drugs were found at his home in Avonbeg Gardens, Tallaght, Dublin, after he threw a bag containing cannabis into a neighbour’s garden during a garda search.

The bag contained cannabis valued at €71,695, while a very small amount of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia were found in the house. Judge Martin Nolan accepted that Gilligan had been storing the drugs for a friend and sentenced him to two years in prison.
