Graham Dwyer is on trial at the Central Criminal Court, charged with murdering childcare worker Elaine O'Hara on 22 August 2012. He has pleaded not guilty. The proceedings were reported on 4 March 2015.

O'Hara’s remains were found in forestry on Killakee Mountain, Rathfarnham, on 13 September 2013.

Darci Day, giving evidence by live television link from Maine, said Dwyer had looked at places there to use as disposal sites. She said his plan involved meeting her, driving her to another location and cutting her throat during intercourse until she lost consciousness.

Day said they exchanged videos involving throat-cutting and strangulation, along with diagrams showing arteries. She said Dwyer discussed O'Hara with her, telling her that O'Hara was suicidal. Day said she knew they had an intimate relationship.

Under cross-examination by Remy Farrell SC, Day acknowledged ADD, a learning disability and PTSD, but said she was not taking medication. Farrell suggested her court account differed from what she originally told a detective. Day agreed the detective had suggested she Google the case.

Day said Dwyer had been “very respectful” about leaving her alone and had never tried to contact her. He had always used his own name and a gdwyer email address. She also said she had given gardaí written permission to search her Gmail records.

Mr Justice Tony Hunt said he would give Day a few moments after she became distressed when asked whether she had sent Dwyer a photograph to be altered to show stab wounds and cuts. The report said the trial would continue the following day.
