Graham Dwyer denies murder as CCTV evidence heard

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Graham Dwyer denies murdering Elaine O'Hara. The alleged murder was on 22 August 2012. The proceedings were reported on 4 February 2015.

Detective Garda Paul Corcoran told the court he showed CCTV stills from Belarmine Plaza to Dwyer's son, Sennan McShea, on 18 October 2013 to see whether he could identify anyone. Ms O'Hara had an apartment at the complex in Stepaside, south Dublin. The detective said Mr McShea selected the photographs he was most in a position to comment on, which became trial exhibits.

On 3 February 2015, the court heard that Mr Dwyer had been seen at the complex on nine occasions between 21 January and 15 August 2012.

However, the court also heard that hundreds, if not thousands, of people appeared in the footage and most remained unidentified. Under cross-examination by Mr Dwyer's lawyers, Detective Sergeant Kevin Duggan agreed that Ms O'Hara and Mr Dwyer were the only people identified by name in eight garda log books covering footage from January to August 2012. Most people were recorded simply as male or female.

The trial remained in progress. The report said it would resume before the jury on Friday, with no evidence the following day.
