Graham Dwyer challenges murder-trial data ruling

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Graham Dwyer's challenge over murder-trial phone data was heard in the High Court, reported on 13 March 2018.

Dwyer, convicted of Elaine O'Hara's murder, argued that data obtained under the 2011 Communications (Retention of Data) Act breached his privacy rights.

The State maintained that the data was lawfully retained and used during his 2015 trial.

Submissions were expected to conclude later that week, with Mr Justice Tony O'Connor expected to reserve judgment.
