Graham Armstrong was jailed for robbery and knife-point burglary at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, in a sentence reported on 7 February 2023.

Armstrong pleaded guilty to robbing a 75-year-old woman on 3 August 2020 and burglarising a Dublin woman’s home on 27 November 2021. During the burglary, he threatened the woman with a knife and took her bag and phone.

Judge Martin Nolan imposed two years for the robbery and a consecutive three-year term for the burglary. He said an eight-year headline sentence would have been appropriate, and described the burglary as especially serious because Armstrong returned to the woman’s home and confronted her with a knife.
